Hello Scott!
I want to thank you again for your loyalty to quality tone and
amp craftsmanship. Your dedication to the Lord's service is clearly
apparent through your work, as well as in your everyday customer
interaction!!. This amp made everything else I had owned (Mesa,
Engl, Marshall DSL's, Suhr OD100 etc.) or tried (Bogner, VHT,
Soldano, Rivera) sound like ghetto blasters. I was thoroughly
impressed. A year went by and I continued to talk to you about
my need for a great quality clean tone, as well as the killer
brown sound of your Pro Mod. I thought about A/B'ing with a Vibrolux
or Twin, but didn't really want to lug around the extra weight,
not to mention space. You let me know that you were in the process
of developing an entirely new amp design with separate EQ's for
clean and overdrive channels. Again, advising me with consideration
to my playing style - you suggested the NEW Pro Mod (KT-88's),
over the Quick Rod (EL34's) in order to have the clean head room,
more bottom end, and clearer highs. In addition, you told me about
your change to Heyboer transformers, the responsiveness and interaction
with the tubes. YOU HAVE TOTALLY NAILED THE TONE with your new
AMP!!! This amp is almost completely noiseless, even at deafening
levels, with my arsenal of various overdrives & boosts into the
front end of the amp. The Svetlana KT-88's driven by the JJ 12AX'7
define this amp. The amp's tone (clean or overdrive) stays true
when using the effects loop - running my DLS Echo Tap or G-Major
into volume pedal -fx return. The clean is buttery, rich whether
into my Bogner 4x12 or the Bogner 2x12. I have tried all of my
pedals into the front end of the Pro Mod, clean channel or as
a gain supplement. Each works perfectly (including Keeley's Compressor,
BD-2, SD-1 & Sparkle Drive mods; AnalogMan's SD-1 & DS-1 mods,
Fulltone FD2, and my Z-Vex Super Duper. I have Paul Cochrane's
"Tim" on the way, as well as the new Zendrive, and expect them
to really work well with the amp). I play PRS McCarty's (a ten
top and reg.), PRS Single Cut Trem, Les Paul Standards and a Custom,
G&L ASAT Classic & ASAT Special, and a Fender Custom Strat w/
Duncan's EVH humbucker & 2 Eric Johnson single coils. I am using
an Axess Electronics BS-2, three DMC GCX switchers with a Ground
Control Pro for effects and channel switching, and a Bogner Shiva
(EL34) Head w/ reverb. Whether keeping it simple - plugging straight
in - or the more elaborate setup, the Splawn Pro Mod shines! Thanks
so much for adding the new 3-gear feature to my amp!!!! Since
my new Pro Mod was your first of the newer series -separate EQ's,
it didn't have the gear features and with your recent addition,
it really comes in quite handy for dialing in that perfect Plexi
tone - less the noise!!!!!!!!!! :) The second gear, as you described,
is what I had originally (PERFECT). The third gear - is totally
over the top!!! The solo channel level can be set to taste and
is PERFECT! I still like my Bogner Shiva (EL 34's) head for a
different clean and overdrive tone, but your Pro Mod is by far
my favorite! By the way, I got to play on Todd Striklin's new
Quick Rod the other night and it SINGS just as well as my Pro
Mod. I believe Todd might even consider being a Pro Mod user,
too!! Scott, may God continue to bless you and your talents! Sincerely
- your friend,

Hi Scott!
Just received my amp from Guitar Emporium. I saw their auction
on ebay and they had the color I wanted so I bought it. I'm so
thoroughly pleased with the amp after just a half hour that I
had to write. It usually takes me awhile to get aquainted with
new gear but from the first chord I new this amp was voiced really
well. Like yourself I'm a big EVH-Lynch guy and am so glad that
I took the leap after hearing your clips and reading all the details
from guys like DirtyCraig. Love the purple tolex and the fit and
finish is great. Best of all it's got that GROWL!!! while remaining
very musical and articulate. I've played amps that sounded great
and felt weird but this thing just has that feel that is hard
to describe. I couldn't be happier and am looking forward to really
getting to know this thing after dialing in a great tone after
like a minute. HA!! Thanks Bro!, you a kicking some big booty
with these amps and I wish you continued success. Take care,

Hey Scott,
Jason here, all I can say is WOW!!! My new Splawn amp sounds amazing!
It's fat, fat, fat, and the clarity is just unreal. The cab is
amazing I ran the head into my tall mesa first at practice then
played through the splawn at my show and the splawn's low end
kicked butt over the mesa cab. It's huge but tight. The distortion
is just killer. I have a friend in town that owns a guitar store
and I brought it over to show him and he was blown away by the
low end on this thing has. The kt 88's rock! I love the fact that
in about two minutes I could get killer tone. Just awesome!!!
Thank you so much dude!

Hi Scott,
Just got my Quick Rod 100w!! Sounds awesome. Plugged it in, it
sounded great. It really had a Marshall tone. At first, I didn't
think it was really different than my other 3 Marshall heads...
Until... I stepped on the Solo button, adjusted the volume (turned
it up a little bit) and KABOOM!! There were all the sounds from
your website. Harmoncis, depth, warth, and mostly... tone. The
only time I have been this excited over tone was the day I got
my first Marshall (100w tube head with Master Vol. circa 1981)
about 25 years ago. The only drawback is that it doesn't play
itself. (ha ha) I was explaining it to my wife this way. It's
really great, every tone in the book, but it picks up every nuance.
It's like someone just delivered a Ferrari or Lambrogini to my
front door and I've been driving automatic 4-door for quite a
few years... it will take some getting use to. But hey, I think
I can live with that. (boo hoo, you mean I have to shift when
I drive a sports car -- yeah, that's the fun of it!) I love the
amp. Great work. Great craftsmanship. And I love the versatility
of it. I was instantly playing (of course) VH and it also sounded
awesome on AC/DC, Scorpions, Randy Rhodes' Ozzy tunes and sounded
very good on Rush and Aerosmith tunes, too. The Lead Channel is
voiced very nicely to add a different sound depending on the tone
I'm looking for. So glad it's there. In contrast, my 5150 pretty
much just sounds the same all the time. If I could have had a
"Solo" boost button in the 80's, I could have amazed all my friends.
Even today I have many combo amps and amp heads (3 of them Marshalls)
and none of them have the Solo boost feature. I can tell at bedroom
level it has the sound of my Marshalls (plus it adds low end and
harmonics), but at actual band practice volume it really shines
with tone and versatility. And a little louder than that -- forget
about it!!! Whereas my Marshall's sound better louder, but don't
give you as much of that "over the top" feeling as this amp does.
I know the amp is good. It made me feel good while I was playing.
That's big. When I feel good I get better ideas and sounds in
my head and into my hands, and that's what it's all about. Just
wanted to let you know, I really like it.

Scott, I
recently purchased a second hand Quick Rod and I'm writing because
I've got to tell you it is THE BEST amp I have ever heard. I have
quite literally owned them all at some point and there is absolutely
NOTHING that compares, I am truly astounded. I've been playing
for 26 years and I can honestly say I have been searching for
this tone for years and my excitement at having found it is overwhelming!
Unbelievable! . Thanks so much for your time and for the outstanding
product you're creating, all the best!
